Founder and Chef Heather Hardcastle's favorite food has always been toast — so when she eliminated gluten from her diet over 20 years ago, she did what any passionate baker would do: she figured out how to make it herself. That obsession led to a career change, a degree in baking & pastry arts, and countless recipe trials before she and husband Rick Perko turned her passion into a business.
They opened the original Flour Craft Bakery in 2013, and haven't slowed down since — adding a Mill Valley Lumberyard location in 2018, publishing a cookbook, and launching lines of gluten-free granolas and baking mixes. But at the heart of it all, Heather and her pastry team are still doing what they've always done: perfecting the craft of gluten-free baking, one inspired seasonal recipe at a time.
